06/05 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks for sharing! It poured heavily murky dark amber body with bog ivory head. Overwhelming banana and bubblegum aroma, only a bit of dark malts. Flavor was also quite ordinary, almost boring, yeasty and chalky, with lot of banana of course. Again, only a bit of caramel and roasted sugar. Light in body, slightly sourish finish. Though I didn’t wrote down any notes of being artificial, it’s still not great and far too light for the style.

Botted 500ml. -Courtesy of Marko (thanks!), shared with heavy and him.
Nice reddish/amber coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, strong banana toothpaste nose. Slight roasted malt and quite artificial banana taste with touch of vanilla near the end. A bit watery also. Ok I guess.

Bottle courtesy of my Czech ISHA friends (enormous thanks!), who got it at Zlý Časy. Tried several Czech wheat beers, having visited Prague just when a Pšeničné fad started, and knowing that some of them were very good I actually had relatively high expectations for this one. It poured a murky brown body, maybe a bit tinged with amber, carrying a big off white head that went away slowly. Strong banana nose, some very light roastiness. Light yeasty taste, banana and soap, some bubblegum, somewhat sweet, interesting and true to style, but getting slightly acidic near the end. Ok enough, and I liked it. :)

Lahev z Pivoteky: Almost clear, light amber coloured, quite quickly collapsing off-white head; sweet caramelly - almost nutty - nose with a mild smoky background; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, not much more than light bodied; shorter malty and slightly smoky finish. O.K., but not too demanding.......

Lahev z Pivoteky: Literally black, smaller relatively stable tanned head; solid sweetish caramelly to dark-malty nose with a mild toasty, fruity and leathery background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, quite soft; short sweet-bitter finish with dry leathery flavours in the aftertaste. Good, interesting Bock/Porter hybrid.......

Lahev z Pivoteky: Cloudy, some floaties visible, bigger - slowly collapsing - fluffy off-white head; sweetish caramelly-fruity nose with a distinctive smoky (smoked ham) backbone; moderate sweet and slightly sourish flavour, medium bodied; becomes drier and slightly more bitter towards the smoky-caramelly finish. Good sample....

Bottle: Cloudy, reddish-amber coloured, no head; sweet caramelly-nutty nose with a fruity (bananas, raspberries) and a toasty touch; sweet sourish flavour, dominated by the sweet part, almost medium bodied, fizzy; chocolatey traces in the sweet-fruity finish. Not bad, more foam and less carbonation could make this brew even better.....
