About
Grimm Artisanal Ales is a Brooklyn-based brewery founded in 2013 by Joe and Lauren Grimm after nearly a decade of tinkering with fermentation. Grimm specializes in concise, elegant ales epitomizing the creative, experimental spirit of the American artisanal beer revolution. With each limited edition release, we seek to push the boundaries of style and flavor in order to create beers with the utmost depth and complexity. For five years, Grimm operated as a nomadic brewery. Joe and Lauren would develop each recipe in the kitchen of their Gowanus apartment and travel to existing breweries near and far to craft their commercial beers.

16oz can from Tavour. Foggy golden pour, light foamy head settles out to fine patches. Sweet, grainy aroma, honey. Taste is sweet, bready, some mild bitterness. Not sure if there is honey in this, but it sure tastes like it.

Aromas are resin, citrus, stone fruit and Play-Doh. Flavors are similar to nose. On the sweet side but well-balanced with bitter and carbonation. Stone fruit and citrus come out more. Add in a bit of MJ. Fresh. Very nice.

On tap at BeerTemple. Pours clear gold with a white head. Brett and sweaty socks on the nose. Flavour has a very grainy, slightly stale malt character, plenty of Brett, lots of rubber. Not particularly enjoyable.
