Appearance: Fogged deep brown with a one finger tall beige head of medium retention. Aroma: Caramel, toast, toffee, esters, dried fruit, vinous notes, some tannins. 330ml can. Jet black colour with small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, tan head. Roasty, slightly smoky, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, hints of smoked tea, a touch of smoked ham, bacon-wrapped plum. Taste is bitter, fruity, alcoholic, roasty dark malty, hints of tequila, dark chocolate, a bitter herbal touch, black tea, herbal liqueur; smoky, ashy finish. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, soft to flat carbonation. Heavy, arduous, no flattering flavours - unusual, not bad, not really convincing.
