Draft at Brouwerij lane. Pours cloudy yellow white head. Nose/taste of florals, wheat, lemon, ginger and green tea. Lighter medium body.

The Sampler, Bushwick tap: Pours a muddy brown with a small head. Aroma is citrus, rye, and some chocolate. Taste was a bit disappointing. It definitely had a lot of rye going on in there. It definitely has hints of chocolate and plenty of hops, but it does not seem to be well put together. the first disappointing Finback that I had. Hopefully, the next one I try will redeem this.

A hazed blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice fruity malt with light smoked notes, cloves, very nice. In mouth, a smooth sweet fruity malt with light peated notes, banana, cloves, refreshing. On tap at Covenhaven.

A dark brown Saison with a thin brown head. In aroma, a nice peated chocolate malt with light grassy herbaceous hops, nice. In mouth, a nice grassy chocolate malt with herbaceous hops, licorice notes, ok. On tap at Covenhoven.

A deep dark stout with no head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with light licorice notes, light cherry, nice. In mouth, a sweet fruity chocolate malt with light licorice, coconut, a bit off and light bodied. On tap at Covenhoven.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a loose beige head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malts, and just some hints of coconut. The best thing about this beer is how full bodied it is considering its comparatively low alcohol content. Quite smooth. Nice aftertaste. Easy drinking.

Tap at rattle to finish off lunch. Pours yellow lagerish with white puffy head. Nose is light nana and pepper. Tastes only hints of peppercorns, wheat, banana, vanilla. Watery palate. Not much going on here

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is an espresso mocha latte with hops and chocolate and all that good stuff thrown in. Taste is somewhat sweet, but not cloying. Plenty of coffee in the flavors. Body is thick and syrupy but still drinkable for sure. Very well put together beer and a very easy drink for its comparatively large size.

Aroma: The aroma of this beer has some light, clean hops, citrus and pine mostly
Appearance: It pours an unclear orange-gold color with an off-white head and decent lace
Flavor: The taste is clean and hoppy, with light sweetness, and a medium hop bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a soft-to-average carbonation, and a mid-dry finish
Overall Impression: So I guess Finback is headed up by ex-government employees, because 5.5% is only a session beer if you are using the "close enough for government work" method of estimating. I kid. 5.5% is close enough for me. I could session this easily. I don't actually care about the semantics. Good beer.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours orange with a small white head. Aroma is vinegar and sour funk, with very small malt backbone. Taste is rather sour, slightly lemony, quite vinegary (a light vinegar though). A well put together sour.
