Bottle: Golden to deep golden, cloudy with a loose mid-sized stable head;fresh lemony and almost piney nose with yeast and wheat; soft MF, medium bodied, moderate sweet-bitter flavour with a subdued acidity; lingering citrussy and hoppy finish, accopanied by a weak acidity. Very fresh, very pleasant…

bottle from pivnizub! Hazy yellow, witha white head. Fruity-floral hop aroma. Wheaty, yeasty fruity touch and nice perfumy floral hop flavours. Light-bodied, but really good.

500ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, golden colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy and slightly floral hoppy aroma, some protein. Taste is slightly floral hoppy, minimally sweet pale and caramel malty, a cautious nuttily touch; relatively lively carbonation, slightly light. Flattering sweetish, simple, nice.

500ml bottle. Clear, ruby red glowing, mahagony colour with late awakening, average, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, ochre head. Dark malty aroma has hints of cherries, red berries, (hazel-)nuts, a touch of nougat and milk chocolate. Taste is minimally to moderately sweet dark malty, hints of hazelnuts, Brazil nut, some nougat; slightly sticky palate. Constantly carrying a dry touch of nut pellicle that counterbalances the malt sweetness; nice, nuttily Doppelbock.

Bottled (thanks omhper!). Slightly hazy ambery brown colour with a mediumsized creamy off white head. Aroma is strong strawberry with some caramel malts, fudge and also mild yeastiness. Flavour is being very similar, but also with a nice bitterness kicking in after the malty sweetness is gone. Wellbalanced, and actually quite tasty.

500ml bottle. Hazy, opaque, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, off-white head, excellent retention, wonderful lacings. Wheaty, fruity hoppy as well as fruity and spicy yeasty aroma, notes of peach, apple, mandarine. Taste delivers similar notes in wonderful balance, slight tartness, subtle sweetness, everything in accurate amounts and right places. Maybe in parts due to circumstances - drinking outside, the weather is fine - a Hefeweizen on top level; on other days still a good one for sure.

500ml bottle. Clear, orangey, deep golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Very cautious smoky aroma, at most like "Mettwurst", minimally herbal and floral hoppy overtones. Taste is moderately sweet malty, cautiously smoky, "Mettwurst" intensity again; dry, still minimally smoky and additonally sligthly woody and papery finish. This is simply inconsequential for me. For those who really appreciate a Smoked, who are willing to withstand the blazing heat and caustic fumes of netherworld’s furnaces, this Mephisto exudes the aura of a dwarf in mutation, cawing "Take this, mortal!" I believe, either you like a Smoked or you don’t. There’s no need for an introductory course. Schlenkerla is the levelling rule.

Bottled. Hazy amber, small head. Caramelly nose with prickly pear and hay. Mid sweet with medium body and soft mouthfeel. Caramelly malt, some tropical fruit hops, notes of honey. Mid bitter finish. Works for men too, it seems
