500ml bottle: BBE Oct 2021. Poured into a Batemans badged pint sleeve at home on 18th Nov 2020. Mini haze to the golden body, full white head on top. Hoppy and crisp feel to the beer, mild citrus leanings from the hops, bitter too.

500ml bottle: BBE Feb 2022. Poured into a tall '8 Sail Brewery pint glass' at home on 18th Nov 2020. Foaming beige crown on a mahogany red/brown body, nose is malty, woody and nutty, dark chocolate esters arrive as the beer warmed in the glass. The taste is malt forward and semi-sweet in nature, chocolate notes arriving late (as it warms, like the aroma started to release chocolate esters). Caramel and toffee like flavours also in the taste, more so as it warmed, woody and nutty throughout. Liked it, a proper 'Winters Tale Ale'.

500ml bottle: BBE Jun 2021. Drank at home on 14th Nov 2020. Poured twice into an old 'Chimay' goblet. Looks good, smooth beige head on a clean mahogany body. Malty nose and taste with a caramel lead in the flavours. Decent bitterness, but it's a malty brew first and foremost. Hints of dark hedgerow fruits as the beer warms a little.

Bottle from Melbicks Garden Centre, Coleshill. Pours brown, beige tinged head, reasonable retention. Aroma of caramel malts and fruity hops. Taste is quite sweet, with toffee notes, berries and a bitter sweet finish. Light to moderate body and moderate carbonation. My expectations looking a the bottle was that it was going to be a 6 out of 10 bitter sold mainly to tourists in Stratford town centre. I was pleasantly surprised it was a Brown ale (only my second after Newcastle Brown Ale) and it had a decent depth of flavour even if its not overly complex. The body is a little light admittedly but I did enjoy the flavours of this one although it may be because I have a sweet tooth.
