Description
Loch Lomond Brewery started life in our kitchen in Luss on the shores of Loch Lomond.
β
A desire to brew beer and create a family business that would allow the whole family to get involved we started in 2011 in Alexandria.
Now having brewed a number of award winning beers including CAMRA Champion Beer of Scotland in 2017 and SIBA Supreme Cask Champion of the UK in 2016, we have recently rebranded to include a number of new beers in cask, keg, bottle and can.
Still brewing on our original 10bbl kit our passion has not faded - in fact we are probably more fanatical now about our existing beers and new recipes than ever before.

Cask at Queen Vic, Aberdeen. It pours darkest ruby - black with a thick, khaki head. The aroma is soft, sweet, ripe cherry upfront which mellows to chocolate, jammy, vanilla, fruit compote, roasty malts and some dull coffee. The taste is smooth, dark roasted malt, bitter - sweet character, cacao nibs, ripe cherry, definite black forest vibes, earthy and dull coffee grounds. Light - medium body and soft, frothy carbonation. The cherry character doesn't feel fake and is well integrated into the base beer. Decent.

Cask at Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a small almost white head and good lacing. Thereβs floral hops and hints of oranges in the nose. In the mouth it starts off sweet and juicy with malts and biscuits in the flavour. Later it becomes slightly bitter with hints of citrus and grapefruit leading to a bittersweet finish. Golden ales arenβt exactly my favourite style, but this one is decent enough.
