[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] A straw coloured pour with a scattering of white head; grainy aroma with a little citrus; sweet grainy body with a flaccid lemony taste; and nothing to finish.

440ml can from Lidl Shrewsbury. Unclear gold with a satisfactory white head. Aroma is gently fruity, a hint of grapefruit perhaps. Grapefruit is delivered on the palate, with a modest hop profile that is more or less centred around this kind of fruitiness with a light nod to tangerine-esque zest. Calling it a NEIPA is pushing it a bit, fairly light bodied, though it is sessionable. Fine for the price point.

Can from Luvians. Murky deep golden body with an off-white head. No visible carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of mango and white bread. Flavour of mango, soft malt and pineapple. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Punchy and fruity. I love the dankness of the Galaxy hop.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up From Lidl Well Street. Pours fuzzy gold with a frothy, white topping. Lightly sweet with a bit of flinty dryness, pithy citrus, rindy bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Lightly drying finish, bits of pine, tangerine peel. Drinkable if basic.
