Can picked up at the brewery. Also had a taster on site. Sits lightly hazy deep ruby red. Slim ring of beige foam. Looks well. Nose has toffee caramel. Cake mix. Bit of marzipan. Comes across like seasonal pudding. Taste is pretty sweet with a fruity vinous dryness. Loads of depth here. Super solid Belgian shizzle that drinks silly easy.

330ml bottle picked up at the brewery. Also necked this on tap. Actually preferred the bottle version. Anyhoo. Hazed gold. Slim leggy white foam. Nose has marzipan. Estery stone fruit. Light citrus. Taste has a dried fruity sweetness. Gets nicely bittersweet and a tad twangy. Rich and full bodied. Easy drinking throughout. Orange peel finish. Boss.

Cans from The Beerhive. Hazy brown body with a beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of toffee, dried leaves and pine. Flavour of peach, toffee and caramel. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Malty and bitter.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Clear brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Light palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin malts, light caramel. Alright ripe fruits and a very light touch of spice. It comes together well flavour wise but overall it's a tad thin.

Silver bullet, courtesy of Martha. Cheers! Pours a pretty murky very deep copper brown. Swede is a thick foamy and fully lasting off white delight. Body is grim, head is banging. Anyhoo. Nose has spicy rye like malts. Some cracknel toffee. Hops are super piny juicy and spicy. Charred pineapple. Sweet hedgerow fruit. Taste has sticky sweetness before a big piny fruity herbal bitter hit. Loads of body throughout. Very bitter finish lasts an age. Great example of the style.

Flavour of toffee, buttered brown bread and an earthy, bitter finish. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Light fizz. A rich and nourishing lager, which goes down well on a cold November night. Another great lager from one of my favourite breweries.

Can from Utobeer, Borough Market. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Nose is fruitcake, liquorice toffee, caramel, coconut, raisin. Taste is cola, camp coffee, fruitcake, liquorice toffee, brown sugar. Sweet malty linger, just a tinge of bitterness.

Can picked up at the brewery. SMODs first Rotbier, I think. Hazed reddy copper colour. Thick lasting pale beige foam. Looks well. Nose has caramel malts. Spicy fruity hop. Whiff of light sourness. Taste has a caramel sweetness first off with a punchy lasting hop bitterness. Lovely creamy mouthfeel with fine rolling carbonation. Nicely lingering bitterness to finish. Lovely stuff. SMOD do a lager better than most.

Bomber picked up at the brewery. Beautiful artwork on the label. Hazed yellow gold. Thin lasting white foam. Nose takes some working out. Big oak character. Chalky mineral. Red wine spilled in an ashtray kind of thing. Smelly cheesy brett. Traces of fruit, mostly sweet white grape. Bonkers really. Taste settles to a tangy very vinous very yeasty semi sweetness first up. Gets a little dry and vinous and a bit gritty on the bitterness. Some salinity. Loads happening here. Finishes like a glass of Gewurtztraminer that’s got left too long but you happily neck it regardless. Mad.
