Description
The Brewery of Saint Mars of the Desert was inspired by the earliest “craft breweries” of Europe: that first generation making beers in disused 19th century breweries with a pioneering spirit, unmoving passion and an almost avant-garde creativity. We relocated from America to the city of Sheffield in South Yorkshire to make this dream a reality and haven’t looked back.
As a very small two-and-a-half person brewery, making world class beers and sharing them fresh with the public is about all we have time for. But who needs more than that?

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from All Good Beer HD. Pours totally clear honeyed gold with a big, frothy, off-white head. Light-medium sweet flavour with lots of drying piney bitterness, mellow flinty minerality, citrus rind, sun-kissed pale malts. Medium bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Lightly resinous finish, further piney hops, dried citrus, clean pale malts. Very nice hoppy beer.

Can thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - deep amber with shades of red. Tan head. Nose - toffee and light prunes. Taste - prunes and stewed apple. Toffee. Palate - creamy and medium to full bodied. Sweetish finish with a tangy thing that somewhat clears things. Overall - good, if a little light for a quadrupel.
