Aroma: Burnt toffee, toast and pine.
Appearance: Clear golden/amber body with a medium white head. No visible carbonation. Light lacing.
Taste: Similar to the aroma - wood and burnt toffee. Also notes of tea and grass. Nice bitterness.
Palate: Medium body with an oily texture. Light carbonation prickle.
Overall: To me, this is more of a Bitter than an IPA - lots of deep, roasted flavours. I’d definitely try this again.

Half, cask hand-pulled at Mr. Foley’s. Fawn-coloured head. Deep dark brown body with a rustic shade. Sweet dark malty nose, lightly roasted. Salty and malty flavours, hints of anise and fruity hops. More sweet than bitter to the finish. Easy to drink. Nice (Leeds, 01.07.2013).
