Dark brown. Thin head. Excessive hazelnut aroma, seems artificial, on the palate it’s actually more a fat bourbon, lacking refinement. Damn. The base isn’t bad, light dark sugars and a touch of roast, mild hazelnut overtop, but a really heavy-handed bourbon treatment. It does all the things, and doesn’t do them badly, but doesn’t do them well either.

This is a salted caramel imperial porter. Not bad…some artificial caramel but tastes good in context with the roasty and slightly fruity base.

Rich gold, thin head, light fruity hop, full pale malt, good body. Oh, this is right on for Bavarian pils, despite the apparent Hamburg reference. I like it.

Medium amber-brown. Light toasty, some fruitiness, spruce needle accents, this is fine but it does have a “cask is about to turn” vibe to it.

473mL can, pours a clear golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some white grape juice and a sort of herbal character. Flavour is much drier than expected, with dry white grape and soft wheat. There’s not much going on here, but it’s clean and drinkable enough.

Poured from 473mL can. Clear-ish dull blonde gold with minimal white head. Simple wheat ale with some very feint grape juice, also has a hint of fuzzy peach candy in there, a bit odd.

16oz @ Ryan's (duck you, Alex, for bringing a beer with nuts here!).
Aroma: roasted malt, chocolate, nuts (artificial).
Taste: along the same lines, quite bitter, very earthy, harsh and chaotic.
Overall: meh.

Poured from 473mL can. Murky opaque dirty blonde with small white head. Very feint dankness, gooseberry, hint of tang, a touch yeasty, but comes across more creamy. Better than expected based on the appearance (and the brewery), okay.

473mL can. Pours black with a minimal head. Tons of hazelnut and cocoa powder on the nose. Flavour also has a lot of hazelnut and cocoa, nice roast, some vanilla. Decent enough, but the aggressive hazelnut cheapens the profile.

473mL can. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Toasted malts and coffee on the nose; a bit of green pepper coming through as well. Flavour has toasted bread crust malts and roasted coffee beans. Dry and full-bodied. Very nice coffee stout.
