Description
Horus Aged Ales is a 100% barrel aged brewery located in Oceanside, California. We believe in pushing the boundaries on how much beer can evolve through resting in oak by using a variety of different wine and spirit barrels, adding exotic fruits, and fermenting spontaneously. The complexity of the beer portrays our passion for experimentation and patience required to produce such a unique beverage. Horus has been a decade long dream that is finally coming true and we look forward to introducing our exclusive beer to the fine people of San Diego County.

Sweet, intense with rye barrel notes, chocolate, syrup, toffee, vanilla, oak, wood, molasses and leathery earthiness. Quite complex and sweet, but tasty.

Sample at Haandfest 2019. Unclear orange body with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, farmhouse funky, wood and acidic. Flavor is kind of smooth but rather tart and sour, still it feels quite balanced between the acidity, sweet fruit and malt. Quite funky as well and nice, but there is a little hint of unbalance compared with the #121 as I tasted a bit earlier, might be the Bourbon or maybe the Cashmere hops that I’m not familiar with yet. Anyway a nice sour, but slightly less perfect compared with #121.

Sample @ Haandfest 2019. Unclear golden body with a thin white head. Nice, pleasant funky aroma with clean oak, light pale malt, fruity acidity and hint of cellar notes. Flavor is also smooth acidic, citric fruity, well balanced, tart but not overly vinegar acidic as many American wild beers seems to be. This is a fine, well made, refreshing and easy drinkable geuze flavored kind of beer. Highly enjoyable.
