Draught at MKs. It pours lightly hazy green - yellow with a small, bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, oily, apple pie, apple skin, pear drops, juice, icing sugar and marshmallow. The taste is soft, sweet, sugary, oily, pear drops, apple, candied stuff, tinned pear, bit of tannin, melon and dried leaves with a drying and tannic finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit sweet for my tastes, but not bad overall.

Bottle from Oddbins, London Bridge. Pours hazy yellow ginger colour with a short lasting white head. Aroma of root ginger, citrus, grass and floral notes. Medium sweetness. Light body, slight oily and watery texture, average carbonation. Started off very fiery, but became sweeter, more mellow and more lemony as the initial heat from the ginger subsided. Pretty good overall.

330ml bottle. Murky, yellow-ish, golden colour with small, frothy, diminishing, white head. Spicy, slightly citrusy aroma, notes of ginger, a touch of lemon. Taste is initially fresh citrusy and slightly spicy, hints of lemon and ginger, sweet and sugary middle part with fruity hints of orange adn pineapple juice, heavy peppery spicy finish; becomes more homogeneous with time. Shaking, arousing, free of any soapiness - a brave and successful undertaking that will probably evoke dichotomic reactions.

Bottle from Oddbins. Appearance - looks like lemonade but slightly darker. Nose - ginger beer but is there any beer in this? No malt, methinks! Taste - a good healthy burn of ginger up front then that's it. Long lingering ginger finish. Palate - light bodied with a long dry middle and finish. Overall - is this actually a beer? I get the ginger but is there malt in it?
