Description
Neptune Brewery has been brewing modern beers, inspired by tradition, since 2015. We’re a small but mighty team and proudly independent. Our beers are naturally conditioned and all the “uns” - that’s unfiltered, unpasteurised and unfined - ensuring the greatest flavour in each brew. It also means our beers are vegan friendly as we believe that everyone should be able to enjoy them.

Keg at Black Cloak Taproom. Aroma combines caramel with fruit and a slight sourness (turns out a dog had been sick a couple of times after eating a jellyfish). Slightly opaque brown. Creamy off-white head. Flavour has booze and resin bitterness over dark fruit and malts. Light-medium bodied. Relatively thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Warming.

Keg at Black Cloak Taproom. Aroma has cacao and an underlying indescribable sweetness. Opaque gold. Translucent white head just recedes to the rim. Flava is citrusy. The cacao is there but ephemeral. Light-medium bodied. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Cream Ale is not a style I have particularly enjoyed in the past but this one lacks the sweetness that puts me off the style.

Hazy straw coloured with a tiny bubbly white head. Lemons on the nose, very light bodied with a slightly salty, tart lemon flavour, maybe just a hint of creamy meringue going on and a dry, bittersweet finish
