Bottle. Pours with a pitch black body with an attractive deep brown head that lasts leaves pretty decent lace. Aromas are very pleasant but decidedly hop forward. Some esters, but a lot of citrus and pine with some bakers bitter chocolate. Bready, vanilla, mocha, roast, tangerine, fresh baked confections. Really nice hops, and a hint of roast. Flavors are a bit less beautiful but still quite good. It gets a bit roasty, smokey, nutty and even astringent towards the finish. Lots of cocoa throughout, but some bitter nut shells. A nice hop profile throughout. Tastes like a good and aggressive big [hoppy] american stout with slightly less body. Big mouthfeel, high carbonation, creamy carbonation. Well made!

(bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, orange colour with a blond and thick foamy head. Fruity hoppy aroma with exotic notes of pineapples, mango and guave, accompanied by a floral touch. Bitter flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Dry malt-character with fruity, flowery and slightly resiny hops leading into a dry and moderately bitter finish with a delicate but also rounded malty sweetness. Pleasant. 12.X.11

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours black with a dark tan head. Strong chocolate aroma. Med body. Creamy carb. Flavor is chocolate, smoke, coffee, and some hop bitter (at least I think it’s hop). It does seem to develop a little pine. Nice!

Bottle: Golden, hazy, big - slowly collapsing - creamy white head with a good lace, exotic fruits and herbal hops in the dry bitter nose; dry bitter flavour, some sweetish (caramelly) flavours underneath; lingering citrussy-resiny finish. Really good, but exciting....

Draught @ Mikkeller Bar on October 15. Pours reddish yellow with a white head. Smell has a bready maltyness and is loaded with citrus fruits (grapefruit, lemon, orange), peaches and citrus zest. Taste is intense and in your face. It’s very hoppy and bitter with sweet malts, lots of citrus, tropical fruits, pine and resin. Really nice!

Sample at SBWF 2011. Bottle. Hazy, amber liquid with small off-white head. Aroma of grassy hops, grapefruit, citrus, mango and caramel malt. Taste is medium to high bitter with light sweetness. Quite dry and of course hoppy. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Balanced and tasty DIPA, though a bit hyped.
