About
The origins of the brewery can be traced back to 1797, with an inn and a grocer always mentioned. It has been family-owned since 1919. Today Günter and Rainer Wagner are responsible for the cool liquid from the keg, of which especially the Ungespundete Lagerbier has a cult status in Bamberg and the region. The brewery has an annual production of 17,000 hectoliters.

Bottle from Beer Zoo. Clear deep golden body with a thick white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of straw and bready malt. Flavour of flower stems and honey. Thin to medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Clean and crisp. Very nice.

Bottle from Beerhunter111. Many thanks! Dark amberbrown colour, beige foam. Nose of caramel, biscuits. Taste is sweet, also rather bitter, hoppy, some roastiness. Intersting bock.

Bottle online from The Trembling Madness. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of grains, hay and bread. Taste is more of the same, a touch herbal with a fair amount of peppery spice and some earthy bitter hop on the finish. Medium body, a fair amount of carbonation on the palate and slightly oily mouthfeel. it’s ok but does seem a bit harsh with the bitterness on the finish. Would not buy again.

50cl bottle. A clear mahagoni brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of caramelized malt, leaves, red malt. Taste of dark caramelized malt, melasse, raisins, spicy bitter hops.

Bottle at home picked up from HOTM Am attractive clear golden orange coloured pour with a sizeable sticky white head. Aroma is earthy bready grains, nutty, , leafy hops, earthy hop, some grass. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, moderate carbonation. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, bready, nuitty, authentic grains, rustic, spicy hop, grass, Real nice authenitc lager.

Bottle, 0.50l. Aroma of cereals, honey, flowers and hay. Pours clear dark golden color with medium sized soapy off-white head, nice lacing and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts medium sweet grainy, following is grassy and medicinal, mouthfeel is rather dry and mild spicy, while finish is herbal bitter.
