(bottle) Clear, amber colour with a medium-sized, slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly sweet and toast-malty, aromatic lemon-fruity, herbal and hay-like hoppy aroma. Light-bitter flavour, medium-bodied with a well-carbonated mf. Malt-accented, slightly toasty and moderate fruity taste; almost dry, very aromatic malty finish with pleasantly distinctive herbal, slightly floral finish with a well-hidden alcohol. Excellent.

(bottle) Clear, chestnut-brown colour with an off-white foamy medium-sized head. Moderately sweet and toasty malt aroma with hay and distinctive herbal, woody hoppy notes. Light-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Dark malty taste with herbal notes and a touch of caramel; medium-dry, toast-malty and moderately bitter, herbal hoppy finish. Aromatic, well-hopped Dunkel.

Bottle: Clear, very deep golden to light amber coloured; delicate sweet-malty and distinctive citrus-hoppy notes; lacing fluffy off-white head; solid bitter-sweet flavour, soft MF; dry malty finish with a lingering, aromatic, herbal-bitter hoppiness. Wow, a well balanced, well rounded franconian Bock. Excellent franconian quality...as usual.........

Bottle. Cloudy medium yellow / red color with a small fair lacing white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, orange, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is ligth alcoholic.

Würzig-süßlicher, leicht fruchtiger Geruch. Würziger, sehr herber Antrunk, der die vorhandene Süße schnell verdrängt. Im Mittelteil geht es dann genau so weiter, verhalten würzig, das hopfige Aroma versiegt hier weitestgehend, dafür erscheint ein malziger, stärker werdender Ton. Im Nachgeschmack ist das Bier schon bitter. Es hat eine sehr eigene Note, die mir hier sehr gefällt. Gutes Bier! Test vom 28.1.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,11,12,12,12,12 - 11,75

Bottle: Deep golden coloured, small, really stable and creamy head, visible carbonation; delicate honeyish sweet-malty nose with a bigger touch of hops and alcohol; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, creamy MF; sweet-bitter, almost a bit fruity finish with a light fresh hoppiness. Not too aromatic, but pleasant brew.........

Very light (?) ochre-amber beer, totally clear, under light amberish, small head. Oops - wet floor mop "aroma", then a cypress & soaparoma, but wafts of scouring suds keep coming up. Bit of caramel. Oops. Jesus wept - what’s up now? An extract of toasted peanuts, nearly scorched, diluted to the point of homeopathy, some caramel to hide the rest of the taste, and - I must be imagining things? - a soapy MF. Light, light for a Bock. If it weren’t for the caramel... A terrible let-down from this brewery I loved visiting that much. Bud Bock?

(Draught, "Bayrisch Anstich", at Akkurat, Stockholm, 6 Oct) Amber colour with firm white head. Malty, nutty nose with spices, orange peel, toffee and caramel. Malty, nutty taste with dried fruit (apricots, raisins), toffee and caramel. Metallic, earthy bitterness in the dry finish. The hoppy finish leaning slightly in the English direction. Very nice one.
