About
Established in 2014, owner Seamus McMahon has set up a lovely brewery in one of the old sheds, located behind the milking parlour. This brewery is set up on a working Dairy Farm. The team have renovated the shed to exacting specifications. The brewery is set amongst the rolling drumlins of County Monaghan. Our aim is to create distinct beers that are brewed with care and affection. We have created a range of well balanced and flavoursome ales that reflect the changing face of the beer market in Ireland.

Bottle. Black with a red hue. Aroma of fruit roast. Flavour is warming roast malt, barrel fruit, warm mouthfeel. Dark fruit, robust malt finish.

Bottle @ DØE meeting. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, wood. Flavor is light bitter, roast malt, coffee, caramel, chocolate, dark berries, light alcohol. Medium body, lively carbonation, dry finish. 160316

Bottle @ DØE meeting. Clear very dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and roasted moderate bitter finish. 160316

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty citrus hoppy bitter flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy bitter finish.

Bottle shared at The Cad’s 10 year get together. 29/03/2015. Thanks to Colin for the homeland tick. Orange reddy coloured pour with a off white head. Aroma is a little caramel, spicy veg pepper, mineral. Flavour is nutty mlats, little caramel, chalky. Ok

Bottle shared during the Cad’s 10th anniversary bash - Clerkenwell, London. Pours hazy gold with a white foam head. Simple, with notes of toasty malts and light dried fruits. Light in body with average carbonation. Moderately sweet and bready to finish. OK.

Bottle at my parents house from Callans, Dundalk, 28/06/15. Very lightly hazed Amber orange with a decent light beige covering that retains well. Nose is earthy hop, biscuit, caramel, light fruit, faint spice. Taste comprises biscuit malt, light spice, caramel, fruit rinds, toasted bread, bitter orange. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with earthy hop bitterness. Decent lightly hopped Amber, good session juice. Brewer describes as a pale ale but in RB parlance this one sits more comfortably in the Amber camp for me.

Copper red, clear, large frothy off white head
Aroma of soft sweet fruits, quite fruity, some earthy red berries, soft hedgerow fruits
Taste of fruity caramel malts, red berries, getting some strawberry, dab of nutty malts, restrained hops, mainly malts here
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, quite sweet
Overall - Quite a fruity Irish Red, not bad for the style
