A tasting sample from English Heritage @ Stokesay Castle, Shropshie. Pours clear golden with no head. The nose has notes of honey and alcohol. The taste has a deep honey flavour. The palate has a big structure and an oily texture. The finish is not quite as clean as I would have preferred, but the big alcohol has made this difficult. This is good, but it’s difficult to differentiate between different meads to the same extent as it is possible to differentiate between different beers.

375ml bottle. Pours a flat gold with no head. Aroma is honey, spice and white wine-esque alcohol notes. Taste is sweet honey to start. Honey and white wine in the finish. A bit sticky and spicy. Warming alcohol in the aftertaste. Not a fan of the white wine similarities.
