Pours dark brown from the bottle. The tan head fades away. Aroma is rich with chocolate. Hints of unripe plum in the background. Taste is bittersweet to sweet up front, full of chocolate and roasted grains. The roasted flavors dominate the finish. Body is fairly light, a touch too light, carbonation is mild. Overall not bad, a bit more chewiness on the palate would give this one a much higher rating.

Bottle at Erzbierschof Monday Club. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is dominated by spices: Orange peel, ginger, cinnamon, anise, still clear toasted malts. Body is dry but medium, quite bitter, with the flavours carrying over. Nice.

Bottle at Erzbierschof Monday Club. Pours black with a little foam. Very, very burnt and roasted. Some dark chocolate. Medium body with rather subtle flavours, pretty round. Rather simple actually, positively meant. Palate continues the smooth body experience. Could have a tad more body, but also works like it is. Nice.

Bottle at ZBF 2016. Another simple and easy beer at this festival. A classic pale good beer. Rather soft and a tad watery, but not in a disturbing way.
