Description
Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, with three locations in St. Louis, is an unconventional-minded yet tradition-oriented brewer of craft beer. We like to call our unique brewing philosophy Beer Divergency - a 'new world meets old world' brewing approach wherein UCBC contributes to the 'revolution' of craft beer with artisanal creations of modern American beers, and pays 'reverence' to the heritage of beer with classically-crafted offerings of timeless European beer styles.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear, light gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is lightly bready. Hops are a mystery. Approaching med body. Flavor is very toasty/bready/grainy (not burnt or roast) with not a lot of hop. Pils? Hmmmm.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2022. Pours a clear gold with a large white head that lasts throughout the beer. ARoma has candied watermelon with a bit of lime and some wheat backing. Flavor has watermelon Jolly Rancher and a hint of lime with a touch of wheat in the finish.

16 oz can from John, thanks again my friend, 6/12/22. Grain and bread are dominant, with earth, grass, and lemon. Pretty nice flavor overall, bolder than I expected, but still clean and crushable. It gets a touch murky later on, which keeps it slightly less crisp than I would have wanted, but it's still nice enough overall.

A 17.2 oz bottle that was delivered by the accommodating people at Half Time. I have had the bottle for a few months, time to be tasted. A very Germanesque label, for sure. And a pilsner, no great expectations although I do like my beer-tasting beer. I'm drinking out of the bottle tonight, thank you very much, I roll this way occasionally. Yes, a beer taste right off, slightly bitter, a certain graininess, a touch of hops, crackers and some earthiness too as I am inclined to call it. All right for the style.

Pour is a black with a large mocha tan head. Aroma is bitter bakers chocolate and a minor roast. Flavor is sweet chocolate milk syrup with some bitterness and roasted malt. The aroma did not let on that this was going to be as sweet as it was. Not a spot on example of the style but it was flavorful and the alcohol was hidden well.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is a pretty good pils wet dough malt. Flavor is more doughy malt with a floral aftertaste. Pretty good pils. I would crush this on the golf course.
