Bottle from Systembolaget. Black with a large tan head. Vinous aroma and taste with licorice, roasted malt, dark fruit, coffee and some notes of wood. On the sweet side with a smooth and "soft" mouthfeel. Fairly bitter finish. Tasty.

500ml bottle. Clear amber colour with small to average, frothy to macropore, diminishing, white head. Grainy, fruity, malty hop aroma, red currant, gooseberry, a touch of honey. Taste is dry malty, minimally nuttily, strawy; a bit light and watery. Concerning taste pretty much far from the aromatic promise.

(cask@The Summerfield) A medium dark amber, with a creamy off white head. Aroma/taste caramel malt, nutty, only slightly fruit hop undertones, body is medium and almost 0 carbonation. Used to like this many years ago, now tastes distinctly average for my palate.

330ml bottle at a sports bar called Northumberland Arms in Kings Cross where we watched the Norwegian Cup Final between TIL and Hødd on a laptop early on a Sunday. Creamy white head to a clear amber coloured body. Lacing rings down the glassware. Plain malty nose. Earthy malts to the taste character together with nuts and caramel mildness. Bitter endnotes. Not as thin as expected. Decent only choice of an ale at the pub, apart from John Smiths bitter (London, 25.11.2012).

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium to big, fluffy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of dark fruit, licorice, light coffee, soy, bread and toffee. Some light smoke as well. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with a nice coffee/espresso finish with notes of vanilla, raisins and some booze. Full bodied medium carbonation. Nice stuff although a bit boozy. Would probably benefit from ageing.
