Description
Anna and Garry Doel purchased White’s Brewing in August 2010. They bought the Bexhill-based operation following the retirement of the original founders, David and Lesley White.

Took over and expanded the brewing equipment and made a different range of beers on the same site, although some of the old White names were briefly re-used (possibly with recipe changes).

In 2011, experimented with trading as the Edge Brewing Co, but by late 2011, rebranded all of its output under the newly revived Franklin's Brewing Co name. Moved to present address mid-2018.

We’re now in a 2000 litre purpose built facility on the sprawling Sussex Downs just outside of Brighton where we brew traditional beers with a modern twist.

The music is always turned up too loud and in a nod to our roots, we have cows as next door neighbours.

We have a lovely community on our farm, working closely with our landlord and supplying beer to his son who runs the butcher’s and farm shop on site.

White’s beers are listed separately.

On tap at The Hop Stuff Taproom Ashford. A bit of tropical fruit. Mango I guess from the bad pun. It's a mango pale ale. Light bitterness. A bit perfumed floral. OK if you like that sort of thing.

On cask at the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - golden amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - apples and toffee. Light biscuit. Taste - more toffee and biscuit but sweet toffee dominates. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture. The finish is sweet but a little astringent at the same time. Overall - so so!
