cloudy brown, no head. aroma is slightly sour, hoppy, cofee, roasted grains. flavor is sour, roasted stuff, coffee, the sour flavor disturbs what otherwise swould be a nice roasted flavorfull stout.

Bottled(330ml). -Nice murky orange coloured, minimal white head, fruity bubblegum nose with touch of wheat. Sweet malty, fruity and refreshing with mild notes of hamp. Spicy, cloves are dominant here and the alcohol is well hidden. Pleasant beer.

Bottled(330ml). -Almost black coloured, small to medium brown head, coffee chocolate nose. Roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate with bitter herbal notes. Also some hint of wood. Long lasting roasty bitter aftertaste. Again great job.

Bottle (Jahrgang 2009) that ogivlado brought from the brewpub and shared with me (huge thanks!). The ingredients lists confirms what the lactic nose riddled with bubblegum and honey suggested, this murky pale apricot coloured beer with a small white head that went away fast is an ale. Wrong category I guess but I have no idea where to put it. Anyway, the first impression was definitely interesting and not bad, nothing surprising from this great brewer. The taste is, completely different from the nose. Very bitter with a distinct and overwhelming cloves flavor dominating the taste staying until the aftertaste. No alcohol can be felt and there’s a fine sweetish maltiness underneath all that (and some beets that I didn’t like but that’s noticable only if you concentrate). Dryish, strange and definitely worth trying even if it’s not the best beer around.

09/04 0.33 l bottle ogivlado got at the brewpub, huge thanks for sharing! It poured a brown body with no head at all. Caramel malty and sugary aroma. Brandy-ish flavor, sweet sugary sticky and caramelly with figs, some dark fruits and licorice. A bit out of balance with all that alcohol. Warming, sweet prolonged finish. This should be aged, I think it will reveal its true quality then only. Similar beer to Samichlaus, now far below by quality but it could easily become better with aging.

09/04 0.5 l bottle courtesy of ogivlado, thanks for sharing! It poured murky amber body with small head. Nice aroma, a bit fruity malty and yeasty, some vanilla and light banana notes. Fine fruity flavor, yeasty as well, a bit bready, sugary and caramelly. Quite full bodied, quite cloying, with just a touch of alcohol. Finish was strange, somehow stale and ruining the impression on the beer. Good brew, but expected better from this one.

Bottled(330ml). -Only 400bottles, all sold out. 15€ bottle. Samichlaus like beer. Clear amber coloured, almost no head, caramel alcoholic nose. Sweet malt, dark fruits and warming alcohol. Notes of figs and caramel. A bit unbalanced, but after few more tries I think it’s gonna be excellent. So far quality doesn’t match the price. Vintage 2007.

Dark orange coloured, medium sized off-white head, malty fruity nose. Yeasty, bready and noticable rye taste with notes of herbs and hemp. Nothing more nothing less than ok.

Huge, huge thanks to ogivlado, who found it at the brewpub, for sharing it with me and heavy. Poured a nice red-amber body witha almost no head. Somewhat simple nose, caramel and grainy maltiness. Sweet taste, some chocolate, figs, raisins, grain, beets?, slightly herbal, a bit sticky. Caramel, light honey. Only light alcohol. Tasty, but, as Ogi said, this brewery has kinda spoiled us and we expected more. Needs just some more balance to be a great beer.

Bottle that ogivlado brought from the brewpub (thanks!), shared with him and heavy. Poured a lovely hazy amber body, tiny off white head. Light dusty and malty nose. The taste is odd, nice, but not as good as Slow 1. Bubblegum, sweet, a bit chalky, some stale yeastiness, very light hop. Kinda likable but I guess we’ve learned to expect more from this brewery.
