16oz can from Ratman. Nose is bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, and toffee. Clear dark brown (almost opaque) with a medium tan head. Flavor is lightly sweet with a hint of bitter to complement the woody vanilla and bourbon.

Pint can from the Breckenridge tap room - clear dark amber - rich bready malt with undercurrents of lightly fruity acidity and floral hop bitterness - dries out through the middle and the finish gets a little watery and develops a light huskiness - starts strong and finished kinda meh.

Tulip at the Breckenridge tap room - listed as a Doppelbock - dark amber - looks still - caramelized sugars and licorice in the nose - fairly toasty and malty - some oxidation and a bit of acidity through the middle - some tart cherry late before a warming bourbon finish - like the quad, I think it's been in the barrels too long and has started to deteriorate, but not nearly as much, and the malt is still holding up strong in this one.

Tulip at the Breckenridge tap room - clear light amber - no head - moderate bourbon, light belgian spice, tartness and oxidation, even a light acetic character - warm finish that is partly whiskey and partly acid - the time in barrels has left this oxidized, papery, and lightly sour - meh.
