Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured an almost black color with a small foamy white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was dry with rye bread, wheat, woody and roastiness. The flavor was dryish with black licorice, a bit of medicine and rye bread. Long finish. Medium body.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a murky yellow with a large creamy white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was sourish and tangy with notes of cactus and lemon. The flavor was bitter, dry and medicinal with lemon, cactus and pine. Long dry lemon and medicine finish. Medium body. Not good.

The aroma was strong wood smoke and an underlying sweetish fruit. The flavor was strong wood smoke followed by sweetish maraschino cherries. Long tangy cherry and smoke finish. Medium body. Interesting.

The flavor was crisp with perfume and grass - although faint and had a tangy and bready undertone. Medium length finish. Medium body. Disappointing.

The aroma was malty with a bit of bread crust and a hint of caramel. The flavor was toasty , woody and malty with a bit of caramel and faint fruity hops. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.
