Bullfrog Brewery is a proudly independent and multiple award-winning craft microbrewery, brewpub, and eatery nestled comfortably in the vibrant heart of downtown Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Born of fortuitous circumstance and ambitious aspiration, we opened in August of 1996 with a committed 'focal on local' philosophy and a simple yet lofty goal ... to be the place that people need to spend time, to brew beers that people need to have in their life, to offer food that people need to eat, to offer live music that people need to hear, and to be the place that our beloved staff need to work. Bullfrog beers are renowned far and wide, especially our artfully-crafted, barrel-aged wild ales such as Le Roar Grrrz and Rood Bruin. Here at "The Frog," we celebrate life by creating outstanding and memorable beers, food, friendships, and moments.
Tasting at Matt’s; bottled 3/30/2015 Cloudy golden color, small to no head. Compared to real Gueuzes, this one has much more cheese; depending on the day it could be passable or shitty; I’ll go for passable today. Lowly carbonated, the mouthfeel is a bit too oily; sour and lemony, but also the cellar character is strong and pleasant, although the light cheese touch is less exciting. Nice attempt, but as per the details it’s miles away from any Belgian Gueuze.
Draft at The Answer. Murky yellow with a ring of white head. Meyer lemon really comes through really nice on a clean hop base. Nice lighter tartness as well. Very nice feel with a stronger carbonation.
Bottle shared. Very hazy orange red with a small off white head. Aroma of tart blackberry, dry dusty cellar funk, light lactic notes, red berries and light oak. Flavour is moderate sour. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.
