Bottle split at RB Best Encomium share, Santa Rosa, 30/01/16 - Many Thanks ! Golden orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is pink grapefruit, citric tinged straw, pine needle, juicy hop exhaust. Taste comprises orange pith, cantaloupe melon, pine resin, grass, soft breads, grapefruit zest. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi aggressive but well balanced hop bitterness in the close. Solid IPA.

Tap at Cap Tap. Pours translucent gold with a white head. Aroma is dank, arguably juicy and tropical. Med + body. Flavor is dank, earthy, juicy and fruity. Tropical escapes me - likely due to the earth. I’d almost say tobacco. It’s dry, hoppy, quite bitter and very nice.

Bomber from Cap Tap. Pours dark brown with a slight tan head. beguiling aroma of nice coffee and chocolate. Not a harsh note in it. Full bodied. Flavor has very nice coffee, chocolate and a deal of smooth dark malt. Pretty far from dry, but earthy/coffee bitter. A very nice drink for a chilly evening.

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours very, very dark brown with a humongous tan head. Complicated aroma of dark fruits, dark treacle, chocolate, perhaps a touch of honey. Barely full bodied. Flavor is dark fruits, maybe to include cherry, maybe a touch of honey (seem to get that on my lips), darkish, treacly malt, and chocolate. Far from dry and not exactly bitter, yet somehow there’s something like bitter - like a weird honey or maybe hidden astringent wood. Bourbon? I think so, but I’m fighting to get it past all the other complications. Very challenging and pretty tasty.

Tap at Cap Tap. Pours somewhat coppery gold with a white head. Aroma is sort of earthy fruit, maybe citrus/grapefruit. Dry. Bitter. Malt seems lightly roasty. So much hop I’m amazed I can find the malt. Very nice drink.

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours brassy gold with a white head. Aroma is mostly citrus, but there’s some other mixed fruits. Med body at least. It’s nicely, cleanly bitter. Flavor of citrus and arguably mixed tropicals. Malt is clearly present; light touch. But it’s only for support. For a 5% ABV this is pretty tasty stuff.
