Description
Our team live and breathe Melbourne so it only makes sense that our beers are made here. Our beers are also brewed in batches so that the beer is fresher and that hard earned thirst is quenched.
Hawthorn Brewing Co. beers are brewed using as many local ingredients as possible. Yes, sometimes we do have to source from interstate (our southern cousins do have some pretty fine hops), but the quality is always there.
Like beer, we love and accept everyone. Beer does not care about your religion, race, gender or sexual orientation. Everyone (of legal drinking age) can enjoy our beer if they want and we hope that they do.
Beers are brewed at Tribe.

Chapeau bas.

Flavour medium sweet and bitter, malty, tropical fruits, grassy, with long duration, bittersweet slightly herbal and grassy finish. Pours gold with a large head.Nose shows passionfruit, lychee, pear as well as spicy hops notes. Some light honey and biscuity malt.Flavours are very similar but with more of a focus on floral rather than fruity hops.

Very pale ornage with a modest white head.Aroma of gooseberry, lime, passionfruit, paw-paw, crackers. Very light bodied but just shy of watery. Carbonation seems a little on the low side for something like this. Somehow there’s enough crackery malt to make it work, but it’s still mainly about the hops. And because the whole thing’s so light they don’t have to be brash to be prominent or for the modest bitterness to register. It’s well done but a bit tentative for me.

Bottle bought online from Saveur Biere. Pours a hazy golden brown with a quite firm and lasting off white head, leaving good lacing. Delicious fresh, hoppy aroma with notes of caramel, light malt and vanilla. Sweetness is light/medium, with medium to heavy bitterness. Medium body, texture creamy/oily, average carbonation. Long bitter finish, slight sherbet mouthfeel feel, with a light but lasting sensation of chocolate. A very very good IPA.

330ml bottle from Saveur Biere. Hazy orange amber colour with a thick white foam head leaving lacing. Aroma of mango, orange, mellow hoppy. Taste is malt caramel with juicy mango, floral citrus and pine, hop resins and tangy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry dusty bitter finish. Nicely drinkable IPA.
