Description
Our team live and breathe Melbourne so it only makes sense that our beers are made here. Our beers are also brewed in batches so that the beer is fresher and that hard earned thirst is quenched.
Hawthorn Brewing Co. beers are brewed using as many local ingredients as possible. Yes, sometimes we do have to source from interstate (our southern cousins do have some pretty fine hops), but the quality is always there.
Like beer, we love and accept everyone. Beer does not care about your religion, race, gender or sexual orientation. Everyone (of legal drinking age) can enjoy our beer if they want and we hope that they do.
Beers are brewed at Tribe.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Clear gold colour lasting white head. Some floral hop. Drinkable enough golden ale. Not much bitterness, but the rose floralness is quite attractive.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Clear gold lasting white head. A little sweet. Odd to be honest. Not much of a pilsner. OK, no bad or off flavours. Certainly not like a macro lager. Some lemon, some sweet malt. It’s ok.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Clear amber lasting ivory head. A little bit of a stale/oxydised aroma. Better in mouth, some decent malt hop balance and some decent bitterness on the finish. OK. Got better as it went down.

Bottle on board Fridtjofen 16.11.15, generously donated by Cimbasso. Clear orange. White head. Fine aroma of marmalade, tropical fruits and mint. Similar taste, well balanced with malt and moderate hop bitterness. Good drinkability.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, orangey, deep golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grassy-herbal, hoppy aroma, spicy hints of hay and thistle. Taste is fairly bitter hoppy, slightly grassy and herbal, minimally citrusy, a touch of balm and thistle.

(Bottle) Clear pale gold with slight loose white head. Not a great aroma - grain and cardboard notes with vegetable hints. Light body, moderate fizzy carbonation. Light malty with some pleasant fruity notes at start. Falls rather flat in mid palate and is followed by a somewhat harsh bitterness. Not to my taste.

(Bottle) Hazy golden amber with good white head. Nice aroma of passion fruit and pine. Medium body with good carbonation. Fruity hoppy flavours dominate over quite a sweet light malty base. Pleasant easy drinking IPA.

Light amber color. Fairly malty, but overall undistinguished IPA that I am surprised the score is so high.
