Description
Our team live and breathe Melbourne so it only makes sense that our beers are made here. Our beers are also brewed in batches so that the beer is fresher and that hard earned thirst is quenched.
Hawthorn Brewing Co. beers are brewed using as many local ingredients as possible. Yes, sometimes we do have to source from interstate (our southern cousins do have some pretty fine hops), but the quality is always there.
Like beer, we love and accept everyone. Beer does not care about your religion, race, gender or sexual orientation. Everyone (of legal drinking age) can enjoy our beer if they want and we hope that they do.
Beers are brewed at Tribe.

From a 330ml bottle on 14/11/2011. Pours a pale yellow with a medium head that disappears almost instantly. Has a decent aroma some citrus, banana, bubblegum and spices. It has a really curious sweet flavour at the back (possibly itβs the cardamom) after starting out with some fairly typical banana, lemon, wheat and spicy stuff. It grew on me a bit by the end of the bottle.

Bottle 330ml.Clear medium yellow colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, hay, grain, dusty, light hoppy, floral. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, dry hay, hop bitter, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110819]

Bottle. Itβs a clear, golden beer with a small, white head. Rather boring on the nose, fruity and sweetish, with some pleasant hoppyness. The flavor is fruity, with a pleasant bitterness towards the end. Sweetish maltyness, but not cloying. Medium body, quite dry. A decent beer indeed, but a bit boring. 110819

From a 330ml bottle on 19/3/2011. Has a slight grainy, grassy malt aroma with a touch of lemon. In the mouth, itβs quite sweet, with a quite sharp lemony hop finish. Okay, but nothing special.

Pours pale amber with a small quickly fading head.Nose shows spicy, floral hops with a hint of banana and lots of sweet malt with a little bready character. Nice!Flavours are not quite as enticing, with that bready malt changing to grainy malt. Spicy, grassy hops remain however which are very pleasant.Carbonation is a little high for my liking.

From a 330ml bottle on 11/8/2010. Has quite a powerful, unusual aroma - woody, fruity - almost like red wine. Black grapes and cherries are evident. Tastes of sweet malt, fruit and a bit of toffee, and finishes with a moderate hop bite. Not a typical amber, but quite nice - particularly the nose. Rating 3.4. Re-rate on 18/12/2014. Was perhaps a touch generous the last time. The nose was less distinctive this time but still reasonably solid.
