Bottled@HBF2015. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is bready, kind of märzenlike. Flavour is floral, bready, some wooden and mild resiny notes. Quite pleasantly malty, with a nice hoppy kick to it.

bottle at home, bought at Sabbier, Klagenfurt. dark yellow, very hazy / light cloudy color. big white head which dissovles quickly. smells grainy, also some fruity notes, light malty sweet smell, light flowery, a bit hard to pick out any specific smells apart from the grain. medium body, lively carbonation, bubbly on the tongue. tastes quite strong grainy, bread, also again some light flowery / fruity notes, also grass notes are quite apparent. the finish is burned grainy / roasty bitter. Unfortunatly the finish is quite unpleasant harsh, the burned grainy / bready taste is too dominant and overlaps the more subtle flavors. A reason could be that the bottle I bought was quite close to the best before date. Will give this another try when I find it fresh.

Golden color with small head. Aroma has a hint of the aroma hops, but not more - still the bottom-fermented grainy feeling. Taste is similar - a typical Vollbier with a bit more hops. Meh.

330 ml bottle from Ottakringer Shop.
Golden, moderate hazy body, with a small, creamy, white head.
Aroma of grapes, berries, citrus, sweet malts.
Taste is quite dry and bitter, a lot like white wine, with lemon zest, some berries.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes bitter, dry, zesty and with white wine notes again.

Nice and interesting. Feels a lot like a white wine, drinks easy and refreshing. Not my preferred style, but a well brewed beer.

330 ml bottle, cellared for about one and a half years.
Beautiful, dark amber, moderate hazy body, with a big, creamy, beige head.
Aroma of caramel, sour dried fruits, dark berries, some citrus fruits, booze, some marzipan.
Taste is surprisingly smooth, with about the same aromas, but almost no alcohol presence.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes sour fruity, even with some citric hops, sweet malty, a bit alcohol warming.

Tasty! A quite unique take on this style, pretty smooth and with lovely fruits. The ABV is well hidden and it isn’t as filling as other beers of this style, so it is quite easy to drink. Overall one of the best Doppelbocks from Austria I’ve had so far!

Bottled 330ml. -Deep black coloured, small brown head, smoked cheese in the nose. Light roasted malt, some chocolate and caramel with slight cheesy notes. Hint of cheap alcohol (vodka) in the finish. Need improvement.
