Pours thick to viscous, sporting a greige head for scant seconds; black beer with brown reflections. Alcohol, vanilla, ink, wood, liquorice and fusels vying for dominance - generally sweet nose. Alcohol and higher alcohols, sweetish. Bit medicinal, medicinal herbs. Pretty roasted, and retronasal smoked vanilla, soft gingerbreadcrust. Very slick, viscous, oily; obvious alcoholwarming, velvety texture. Very good beer - I’d rather classify it as a very roasted barley wine, rather than a stout, for one. Many thanks, Rodger, for this one - but could somebody explain this enigmatic name to me, please???

Huge, dense beige head over foxy orange beer. Incense, laurel & C-hops, drying out fast to dry hopbales, cray and corndust. Some caramel too, finishing on mandarinepeel aroma. Intense hops, but tempered by caramelly malts. Again mandarine/tangerine, or grapefruitpeel. Carpetfelt, cray too, stressing the dryness. Retronasal some rosewater. Slick, even sticky (without becoming sweet!), hopoils, discreet alcohol, full-bodied. Quite good IIPA, well-balanced as main feature; but missing the overwhelming, pure Ahoperlebnis the Harvest Ale gave me - more one to sip. I was so impressed with the Harvest Ale, that I immediately went onto this one, meant for the next day, really. Thanks very much, Rodger!

Very good & thick, resistent yellowish head, fed by lively carbonated metallic-orange beer. Very fresh and intense citrussy aroma (pink grapefruit, ugli, touch of ureum). Slightly resiny, very citrussy flavours, ending nearly harsh, bit short bitterness. Hops do indeed dominate the taste fully, but seen that that is the idea behind wet-hopping, that is perfectly allright. Light bodied, refreshing; near dry-out effect from the resins; spritzy. Very nice, light hopmonster; wet hops obviously pretty refreshing. Many thanks to brewer Rodger!

As Single Hop Experiment. Draft at the Rubicon. Pours dark gold with a slight, cream and clingy white head. Aroma is flroal hop. Medium body with mild but sharpish carbonation. Flavor is fruity and floral covering light caramel. Not drastically bitter. Sort of llike an english ale that’s just a bit over bittered. Nice tasty finish. Goes a bit perfumey with time. Note: I chose Amarillo based on a search for Single Hop Experiment. Also on the floral bit.
