Red Rock on cask (6.0%) at the brewpub. Nice hop aroma. Dark reddish color with a good beige head. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. Caramel malt with a hint of vanilla and a good amount of floral hop. Finish is dry with roast malt, tinge of vanilla, and a decent amount of bitter. Quite good. My rating may seem high, but this was real ale - has to be better than the dead stuff on tap.

On tap at the Triple Rock in Berkeley, CA. This beer is being called “IPEX.” It pours a hazy gold with an off white head. Nice lacing. There is a sweet malt aroma punctuated by mild grapefruit hops. Delicious. The taste has a quick burst of sweet maltiness that gets consumed by both sweet grapefruit hop flavor and grapefruit hop bitterness. Nice balance creating a refreshing IPA brew.

Draft. Rich mahogony beer with a nice off-white head. Spice and malt aroma. Xmas spice flavor with caramel malt backing. Spice lingers. Medium body. Standard Xmas spice beer. 2009 version is different and much better (an 8% imperial red with big hops)
