Dark amber to brown color; big creamy head. Nice aroma, malty, with light roasted malt. Good mouthfeel, good structure, malty (and a bit sweet) with an interesting roasted malt touch, very light smokey, and an original woody (sour) character. Very good!

Golden color. Light aroma and taste of liquorice; the mouthfeel is also a bit metallic. Rather poor for de Proef.

Bottled 8/17/2000. I'm surprised this isn't rated higher! Pours a cloudy yellow-orange, with abundant yeast sediment and a medium, tight off-white head. Sweet fruity malt aroma with vinous character, a touch of wood, and alcohol. Strong lemony flavor with woodiness, strong vinous character, and earthy notes. Full-bodied and perfectly balanced. A quality Saison, 'tis.

Alcoholiv ans spicy aroma. There was a lot of yeast in my glass. It has a blond colour with a white head. The strong alcoholic flavour is also spicy and bitter.

Cola coloured. Thick brown head, lacey, reasonably stable. Outspoken chocolate and roasted/burnt malt-barley nose. Licorice - sweet smell. In the taste, a burnt malt taste again with a typical sourish surrounding. Bit thinnish texture, but the malts fill it in of course. Bitter-acidity in the aftertaste, again chocolate flavours. Good stout. Sample is too young - I'm convinced some oxidation would do it quite some good. But it is promessing - and there's not so many Belgian good stouts around.
