Pilot Batch: Passionfruit And Guava Nonchalant from Aardwolf

On tap at Aardwolf, pours a hazy copper golden with a small white head. Aroma is fairly subdued on the tropical fruits, with citrus hops. Flavour is loaded with pithy tropical fruits and citrusy hops. The tropical fruits are rather muted and laid back. Decent.

San Marco Sour - Raspberry & Coffee from Aardwolf

On tap at Aardwolf, pours a hazy reddish pink with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of coffee upfront, with a touch of raspberry, and a little lacto. Flavour is heavier on the coffee than the raspberries, with earthy coffee grounds, followed by a touch of raspberry and little wild notes. The coffee is much more dominant than the raspberry, but this works really well.

On tap at Aardwolf, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out subtle tequila barrels, a touch of whiskey, and light tartness. Flavour is light on the barrels, with tart citrus and gentle wild yeast. The barrels are barely detectable here. Still, it's good for what it is.

On tap at Aardwolf, pours a hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out tart citrus, light acidity and some vinous notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with tart citrus, wild yeast and a bit of lacto. Complex and really-balanced. Very good.

Sarah Lovely Dark Sour (Whiskey Barrel Aged) from Aardwolf

On tap at Aardwolf, pours jet black with a small light brown head. Aroma brings out intense bourbon barrels and tart raspberries. Flavour is along the same lines, with potent tart raspberries, lots of bourbon barrels and some wild notes. Decadent and deep.

On tap at Aardwolf, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is loaded with campfire smoke upfront, with a touch of peat. Flavour reveals notes of smoked meat, peat, and caramel. Really nice meaty character to this. Very good.

On tap at Aardwolf, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma brings out rum barrels, caramel and roasted malt. Flavour is decadent, with roasted malt, gentle rum barrels, and toasted caramel. Complex and really nice barrel aging without imparting any abrasiveness. Excellent.

On tap at Aardwolf, pours black with a small light brown bead. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt, a touch of dark fruits and toasted caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with medium roasted malt, dark dried fruits and a touch of brown sugar. Full-bodied and expertly balanced. Very good.

Bottle. Pours clear reddish mahogany, medium creamy tan head, descent lacing. Aroma is peat, oak, scotch, charred wood, toffee. Flavor is medium sweat, fully bitter, peaty, a hint meaty. Medium body, perhaps a tad watery.
