Description
May Provisions is our new side-project here at Unity Brewing Co, focusing on small-batch Continental and traditional beers, paying homage to foundations that have allowed craft beer to bloom. Named for the month of May, when the best of the UK’s produce peaks its focus is on creating distinct beers; embracing the unpredictable influence of natural methods and ingredients with a commitment to quality, technique and full, balanced flavours.

Bottle ordered from Ghost Whale. Aroma has funk and citrus with soft fruit and honey. Gold. Opaque. Fizzy translucent white head. Light sour. With a bitter brett edge. Citrus to the fore. A touch vinous. Light bodied. Thin but slick. Leaves a chalky mouthfeel. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. It's fine. I imagine it would be refreshing after a day in the fields but it's neither really a Wit or a Sour. More like a low key Saison.

Can ordered from the brewery. Sweet aroma combines juniper and earthy rye, with a tasty streak. A slight haze to the amber body. Massive foamy off-white head. Medium sourness over a rye core which add spice and some bitterness. The bitterness peaks and the sourness then closes proceedings. Light-medium bodied. Slick with a touch of cream. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Decent stuff. Could just do without the aftertaste. A different take on a seasonal ESB or whatever an old school brewery would produce, admittedly for Christmas if not Autumn.
