Description
Zwakala means 'come closer'. It is this convivial african spirit that we brew our award winning brews with. Established in 2016, we are an independent & proudly South African craft brewery. Luca Tooley, our head brewer says that "Magoebaskloof is a very special place, and I was so lucky to grow up here. The area is an adventurer’s delight with trout fishing, hiking, river swimming & horse-riding. It also has a very welcoming local feel that I think visitors really enjoy and come back for. Our pure mountain water that we brew with is of such high quality & it really comes out in the flavour of the beer. Our beers are crisp and refreshing and our brewery’s location is unique - an adventure to get there.
I come from a big vivacious family & we live by the motto “the more the merrier” Craft beer reconnects the consumer to beer that is slow-brewed, locally-owned and full of flavour. My love of beer and Limpopo inspires me!"
We have grown both locally and nationally and in 2019 our Lager was awarded the Best Light Beer in the Country. We are extremely proud of our award winning brews and strive to maintain the high standard of brewing.

Fra fat på The Blue Crane (Pretoria) feb-20: klar gylden med tett skum som varer helt ned. Mild citrusaroma. En forfriskende lager når gradestokken har passert 25C. Slank, lett humlet og med mild bitterhet. Kort ettersmak. Easy drinking but fairly forgettable.

Pours mildly turbid , light amber. Small white head. Smell is extreme DMS. I don't think I ever had such a DMS forward beer, ever. Taste is full-on DMS, mild maltyness. bit caramel. Doughy malts. All aspects seem to be hidden underneath the extreme DMS
