Athenian Brewery SA is one of the leading companies producing and marketing beer in Greece. Founded in 1963 by a group of Greek entrepreneurs and a member of the Group Heineken NV Works based in Athens. The first factory was Athenian Brewery in Athens in 1965 and produced beer Amstel. In 1975 was inaugurated the second factory in Thessaloniki and in 1985 purchased the third , in the industrial area Patras .

Bottle, 6%. Dark brown colour. Unstable light brown head. Malty aroma with some brown sugar. The flavour is roasted and bready. Not sweet. Hard-roasted coffee notes. Dark malt syrup finish, but still quite dry.

Bottle, 4.5%. Distinct cherry aroma, a little acidic. Clear dark red color. The flavour is sweetish with cherry and acid. Almond notes. Not as sweet as feared.

Bottle, 5%. Ok malty aroma. Clear golden colour. Ok white head. The flavour is nicely malty. Has a hint of floral hops. Medium bitterness, clean and pleasant. A lot better than expected.

Bottle, 4.5% as Milokleftis Forbidden Apple. Caramelly apple aroma. Hints of real apple. Clear yellow colour. Very small white head. The flavour starts off sweetish but quickly turns drier. Mostly tastes like artificial apple, but at least not sickly sweet.

Can, 5%. Lagery aroma, a little malt syrup. Clear golden colour. Ok white head. The flavour is malty with a mild but noticeable saltiness. Like a decent pale lager, but the salt gives it a little edge.

Bottle. Slightly cloudy dark yellow/orange with a small white head. Aroma of grains, straw and yeast. Taste of grains, malts, bread, yeast and straw. Low to moderate bitterness. Medium carbonation. It is what it is: A refreshing and proper mediterranean Lager. In my opinion the regular Mamos is pretty decent and this is a little bit more flavourful.
