Bottle from Nettorama supermarket. Color: Clear reddish brown, beige head. Aroma: Dark dried fruit, spicy rye notes, hints of Whisky. Taste: Mix of sweetish dark dried fruit (fig, plum), spicy rye notes, Whisky hints. Bit boozy but not too boozy. Hoppy backbone. Over moderate sweet, light to moderate bitterness. Over medium to full body, lightly oily mouthfeel, below average carbonation. Well balanced.

Black with a thin beige head. Sherry aroma with some dark caramel. Sweet taste with a sweet boozy finish. Some spiciness from the rye as well. Maybe a bit too sweet but certainly enjoyable.

Geprobeerd tijdens een interessante lezing bij de Heemkundekring in Oirschot. Het is een troebel kastanjebruin bier met een medium beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van rozijnen en kruiden. De smaak is kruidig met een licht zoete afdronk.

(Draft at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 16 Aug 2025) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, chocolate and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dark chocolate, dark bread, roasted grain and a balanced roasty bitterneess in the finish. Medium body, dry. Well balanced stout. Nice one.
