Zwart bier met bruin schuim wat niet al te lang blijft staan. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van koffie, vanille, chocolade en hazelnoot en een vleugje bourbon. Erg fijn bier, klasse!

Pitch black, tall creamy tan head, good retention, heavy lacing. Aroma roasted malt, licorice, cocoa, vanilla, woody and earthy notes. Taste medium sweet and bitter, roasted malts, chocolate, sugary. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, dry sweetbitter aftertaste, malty, chocolate, bit booze, maybe lacking some depth, good brew though.

Vrij veel rode wijn, op een basis van een redelijk standaard dikke maillard barley wine. Niks mis mee

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Hazy amber with a white head. Malty aroma with floral, piny hops and some tropical fruits. Bitter taste with a bitter finish. Nice but a bit one-dimensional.

Label claims 24 IBU and 5.7% ABV Huge dense white head, fed by furious carbonation in darker golden beer. End of bottle swarm of small UFO's. Rather oppressive vegetable nose, gassy, grass, garden weeds. Toasted malts, more grass, quite some restsweetness, corn. Slight burning feel backthroat; very well carbonated. Grist/wheatslickness (though no wheatacidity that I can detect). Medium body; generally dry. Not very exciting.
