Cask @ the brewery. Copper colored, light carbonation. Aroma is sweet, fruity and fresh hop. Flavor is mild, sweetish and fruity. Medium bodied. Finishes with some malt, then some hop, but hardly bitter. Quite nice.

Tap at brewery. Nothing special. Poured a pale yellow with a foamy head. Nose of sweet malts, fruit and some spices. Flavor was malty with a some light wheat and spice notes. I didn’t find it to be a particularly cohesive beer, the components just a bit too disparate.

Tap at brewery. Cask-conditioned. Pours a dark amber with a light, fluffy head. Citrus hop aroma. A sweet, juicy flavor. Smooth a and warming. Some mild stickiness in the aftertaste. Quite good!

Tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy, dark amber with a minimal white head. Nose is lightly malty. After the mild aroma, the flavor is unexpectedly good. Sweet malts lay the groundwork. Some feint hints of scotch and hard alcohol. Pretty crisp on the finish. If I really wanted to get after it, this would make a great sessioner. Solid beer.

Tap at brewery. A little light for my taste. I expect more punch in an amber ale. Pours a cloudy amber-orange with no head. Some light malt and hop on the nose. I also detected some kind of cleaning agent - Brewery: go easy on the cleaning agents. I shouldn’t be able to detect it so easily. Flavor so-so, although it did grow on me as I made my way through the pint. I even picked up some brown sugar notes, which certainly improved my overall impression. I guess the measure of a beer like this is: could I session it? And the answer is yes, I could. There are better amber ales out there, to be sure, but you could do much worse than this fella

Tap at th brewery. Decent brew. Pours a copper-ruby, clear. No head. Aroma is light, sweet candies and malts. Flavor, at first, is quite tart and sour. Quickly mellows into notes of sweet, candy-like fruits. Pretty crisp - odd in a barleywine. Light to medium in body, this beer drinks easily, except for the initial tartness. As someone else noted, this is an interesting beer. Would have again.

Tap at the brewery. Pours a dark, brown-black with a thick, dark brown head. Nose is rich mocha. Flavor is light, burnt malts with coffee and chocolate notes. Smooth, mildly velvety mouthfeel. A pleasant, roasty aftertaste. Very solid stout.

On draft at the Stag’s Head in NYC. Opaque black. Gorgeous full brown head. This beer instantly makes you hope the beauty is not only skin deep. Massive chocolate and roasted malts on the nose. Coffee notes as well. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a slick, viscous texture overriding the taste, surprisingly a little thin. Palate of roasted malts and coffee - nothing of the chocolate from the aroma. This is a good stout, but I was led-on at the beginning to hope for more.
