Bottle shared by Countbeer. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium sized beige to slightly brown colored head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, slightly earthy, a hint of coffee, light to moderately roasty, a hint of liquorice. Taste malts, coffee, bitter, subtle roast, the perfect slight influence of liquorice, some chocolate. So rich and full of flavor. Oh my lord. Extremely full flavored, smooth, subtle yet rich. Incredibly well done!

22oz bomber shared by Ben. Very easy and drinkable. The coffee, bourbon, and massive malts combine quite nicely. World Class. Oaky niceness. Smooth bakers chocolate. Coffee, approaching peaty smoke. Wow.

Anchored Inn, Brooklyn tap: Pours light amber with a creamy head. Aroma is light caramel malts and a good amount of piny hops. Taste is a little sweet. Nice amount of hop bitterness. Some earth. A bit of spice. A good, classic amber ale. At least they upgraded their bottle art.

Sample at Aces & Ales Tenaya. Opaque brown-black color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of chocolate, charred malt, black licorice and coffee. The finish is roasty with a lingering malty aftertaste. Solid beer all around.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent gentle hazy amber to slight brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. The lacing that was left in the wake of the dieing head was somewhat messy and foamy thick.
The smell had a decent balance of citrus hops to caramel malts. There seemed to a decent toffee underneath.
The taste was bitter and sweet at separate times in the beer.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. The carbonation was somewhat harsh as it carried what it should to be decent for the style and for me.
Overall, good AIPA I could have again.

From bomber to pint glass. Resin and pine dominate the aroma, with cracker malt in support. Pours a clear red with billowing off-white head of large, fluffy bubbles. Slight webbing. Taste is dank, earth, pine. Slight citrus in the middle. Pine finish. Moderate high bittering. Finishes moderately dry.
