On tap at the brewpub on 08/23/2009. Very clear golden body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet spice and light citrus aroma. Sweet sugary fruit flavor with light citrus notes. Medium body with moderately high carbonation.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown color with a medium offwhite head. The head lasts a bit and fades to a thin persistent layer on the beer’s surface. Decent lacing. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, oak, burnt sugar, apple. Taste is brown sugar, caramel, toffee, nuts, spicy wood, bourbon, vanilla and a faint fruitiness including notes of apple and peach. Smooth, medium-full bodied.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a medium head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, spicy hops, chocolate and faint raisin. Taste is chocolate, nuts, raisin, caramel and an earthy hop finish. Medium bodied. Refreshing. Good beer.

Growler from the brewpub. They don’t sell this in growlers, but they told me over the phone that they did and no way in hell was I going to drive 45 minutes each way for just this beer and not leave with it. Oh well, generally they give great customer service. Pours a dark brown color with a slight haze. Aroma of toffee and caramel. Small head with good head retention and fair lacing. Taste is caramel, toffee, nuts, molasses and a lightly hopped finish. Very very faint peat-like smoke. Smooth, thin-medium bodied. 8/3/8/4/15/3.8

Rerate 10/22/13 from a 12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a thin off-white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of toffee, caramel, toasted malts, mild vanilla and raisins. The taste is toffee, toasted malts, mild smoke, mild fruits, mild vanilla. Medium bodied, slight bitterness, decent balance. Still excellent. 8/3/7/4/16/3.8

Growler from the brewpub. Pours a hazy orange-brown color with a thin head. Fair head retention and poor lacing, Aroma of bread, caramel, candi sugar, yeast, banana. Taste is bread, bitter fruit notes including banana and peach, yeast, candi sugar, caramel. Medium bodied. Good beer.

Draft sample at the brewpub. Pours a hazy golden color with a large frothy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, husky grain, dry peach and grape, nutty notes and a hoppy finish. Taste is caramel, bread, dry fruit notes (grape, banana), nuttiness and a citrus hoppiness throughout. Medium bodied.
