Growler from the brewery. Pours a hazy lemon yellow color with a medium head. Fair head retention and average lacing. Aroma is very yeasty and bready with a bit of pineapple, citrus and spice in the finish. Taste is bready with notes of caramel, spice and light fruit.. peach, pineapple and others. Medium bodied. Solid example of the style.

On tap at the brewpub on 02/14/2010. Dark black body with ruby highlights and a medium creamy light brown head. Big roast and chocolate aroma. Big chocolate, roast, molasses, and alcohol flavor. Handbottle from dkachur on 03/14/2009. Clear golden body with a small white head. Sweet honey and spice aroma. Sweet honey, spice, faint caramel and fruit flavor. Medium light body with moderate carbonation.

Sampled at the brewpub. Nitro tap. Pours a dark reddish brown color. Clear. Medium head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of bitter roasted malts and tobacco. Taste is roasted malts, rich chocolate and a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied.

Fresh growler from the brewery. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma is toasted malts, caramel and lots of fruit notes including banana and citrus. Taste is toasted malts, grain, green apple and leafy hops. Medium bodied.

Growler from the brewery. Pours a dark brown color with red highlights. Thin head leaves a cream colored ring around the edge of the glass. Aroma shows strong coffee notes along with some roasted malts, chocolate and a faintly fruity finish. Taste is roasted malts, coffee, green apple, caramel. Medium bodied. Smooth mouthfeel.

Growler from the brewery. Pours a clear golden color with lots of carbonation clinging to the side of the glass. Medium head with average head retention and fair lacing. Fruity aroma with big peach and pear notes as well as some bubblegum. Taste is also fruity with pear and pineapple notes as well as a touch of candi sugar. Full bodied with very soft carbonation.

Fresh growler from the brewery. Pours a clear copper color with a small head. Decent head retention and average lacing. Aroma is toffeish and toasted malts with some mild spice. Taste is toffee, brown sugar, earth with a spicy finish. Some faint fruity notes also. Medium bodied. Damn good, this one. Does the brewery realize they’re going at the rate of more than one new Ale of Fergus beer a month?

On tap at the brewpub on 01/17/2009. Clear dark copper body with a small creamy off-white head. Sweet toasty and earthy malt aroma with a bit of caramel. Sweet thick toasty and earthy malt flavor with light earthy hop notes. Medium full body with moderately low carbonation.
