Description
Black Acre Brewing Co. is a small batch brewery located in Irvington, Indiana. The idea for Black Acre initially was conceived in 2010 due to our love of brewing, great beer, and the beer community at large. We created Black Acre with the goal of contributing delicious and unique beers to the community in which we live.

We hand craft our ales using a custom fabricated 3 barrel electric brewing system. Distribution is limited through our in house tap room sales, where both pints and growlers are available.

Visit the Black Acre Garden, Irvington's newest outdoor drinking space located at 5529 Bonna Avenue. The family and dog friendly Garden features a variety of Black Acre beers on tap with plenty of seating on the new deck, and guests invited to carry or order in food.

Can from De Bierverteller, Utrecht. Aroma is malty with spicy rye, bready malt, touch of caramel, soft hops, lightly fruity. Body is medium. Flavour is moderate sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Good rye malt, but lacks fruity counterbalance.

Bottle from Beerdome. Aroma is roasted malt with coffee, dried dark fruits, liquorice, and dark chocolate. Flavour is above medium sweet with a decent roasty bitterness. Body is full. Besides the notes of liquorice, which I don't care for, this is a solid Imperial Stout overall.

Can from Beerdome. Aroma is resinous hops with sweetish fruits, candied orange, toasted caramel malt, and pine resin, Flavour is fairly sweet with a medium bitterness and a bittersweet finish. Body is above medium. Pretty resinous with a sticky malty sweetness and ripe-ish fruits, not my dream IIPA but certainly good.

On sale @ Sterk, presumably a few years old. Pours black with a brown head that quickly disappears. Aroma's: sweet, drop, licorice, light umami and red fruit or fruit candy. Retronasal: sweetish, light drop, some oxidization. Flavour is rather sweet, drop, with a firm bitterness on the back of the tongue. Light medium bodied. Finishes roasty bitter. Past its prime I guess, but enjoyably, certainly for the price.
