At the Old Red Lion (Holborn). Floral/fruit aroma, but very light. Amber color with white head. Starts nicely bitter in a floral way, backed lightly by malt, but the finish is solidly bitter. Very nicely hopped.

500ml bottle. Clear amber with a white head; good hoppy nose; in the mouth the bitterness predominates, although there is an underlying fruitiness; full bitter finish.

Soapy head tops a copper-brown pint. This is slightly carbonated (from 500ml can). Taste is dry and bitter. The bitter hop is the dominant flavour and it does tend to dry the pallet out somewhat. The lighter floral aftertaste is relieving.

Bottle. Deep red/brown coor with a dense off-white small head. Aromas are light malts with a soft fruitiness. Earthy and dry with floral hopping. Flavours are dry biscuit malts with some fruit. Dry on the finish. A bit thin in flavour.

Bottled(500ml). -Clear amber coloured, small white head, perfumy fruity nose. Aroma is fruity, slight herbal and nutty with earthy and toffee notes. Dry bitter finish with long apple aftertaste. Real english bitter.

Cask. Lightly hazed golden ale with a foamy thin white head. Light caramel malt with dry green hops. In mouth, a thin malt with very fresh hops flowers, very nice. Light but good. The Real Beer Expo - Rochester, NY, Oct. 21, 2006.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 6 Oct) Amber colour with frothy off-white head. Fruity nose with caramel, notes of rubber and a nice earthy hop aroma. Fruity taste with caramel, rubber and a distinct earthy hop character in the finish. Not really complex, but the hoppy taste is quite enjoyable. (6/3/7/4/14=3.4) Rerate: (Can, 22 Feb 2023) Reddish amber colour with creamy, tan head. Malty nose with notes of treacle toffee, wort bread, dates, orange peel and spicy/earthy hops. Malty taste with wort, bread, treacle toffee, caramel, dried fruit, orange peel and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Not really exciting, but still a pretty decent and well made bitter. Nice one.
