Description
Ruddles Brewery was a brewery in Rutland, England. The brand is now owned by Greene King who still brew beers under the Ruddles name in Suffolk, although the current recipes are not those used at the original brewery.

Ruddles became owned by Watneys in 1986, and then Grolsch in 1992, it was sold to Morland & Co in 1997. Morlands moved production to Abingdon only for that site to be closed by Greene King which took over Morlands in 2000.

There is a separate entry for the pre 1986 independent Ruddles.

Bottle bought at a Lidl sale. Shared with lovely Anja and little Mirko. Dark golden to light amber, small to medium head. Diacetyl, corn flakes, cooked vegetable, some malts, very low hops. Phenolic, diacetyl, grainy, lightly bitter. Light body, moderate carbonation, moderately bitter finish. Off and bad.

Thanks heavy! Limp sweet oxidized stale tropical fruit and maltiness aroma. Clear amber body, darker, white head, small but lasting. Dry finish, sweet, fruity limp taste, bit creamy, bit peppery and bitterish. Messy and unimpressive, relatively full of taste for the abv but... Eh. If it wasn’t flat it would actually kinda work.

Bezveze...

Bottle, 500 ml, from Vrutak. Pours orange, short lasting white head. Malty, watery, sweetish, very light caramel, some bitterness in finish. Light bodied. Pretty much awful.
