Das Standard-Bier des Westerwaldes, das man hier von der Wiege bis zur Graburne bekommt. Ein Bier das man gerne am malerischen Hauptplatz mit den bekannten Fachwerkbauten trinken kann - ein Export zahlt sich aber eher nicht aus.

Das Bier wird auch unter dem Namen "Hachenburger 2,5" bzw. "Light " verkauft. Da es sich um ein Leichtbier handelt, ist es natürlich geschmacklich nicht allzu vollmundig, aber zumindest hat es keine Fehlaromen.

Picksüß und klebrig. Dazu schmeckt es fast nach Nutellabrot -mit extra Zucker. Aber so soll ein gutes Malzbier auch schmecken.

750ml bottle. Clear copper with a dense lasting white head. Not really intense hop aroma, just notes of ester-like artificial fruit aroma. Fizzy carbonation in the beginning that leaves no room for a taste in the literal sense. Very decent fade-out. Not really a character. Can’t bear comparison with an American IPA. After all I appreciate this "against the grain" attempt of a German brewery, even if they didn’t reach rudimentarily the end of the line. I would like to see more brewers turning from those easy to drink fruit and light beers to the more ambitious niche of handcrafted noble ones.

50cl bottle. Poured hazy, orange with a frothy white head. Banana and wheat in aroma, quite fresh actually. Flavor is wheat, fruity and herbal notes. Semisweet. Decent.
